AMES — The 2019 boys golf season ended for Perry Friday after the Bluejays participated in a Class 3A sectional meet hosted by Gilbert at the Ames Country Club.
Nevada (293) and DC-G (325) advanced to the May 17 district tourney at Spencer. Lakeside GC in Fort Dodge will host the state meet.
Gilbert (329) was third overall and Boone (335) fourth, with Ballard (367), Iowa Falls-Alden (374), Hampton-Dumont (438) and Perry (493) completing the field.
Top-ranked Nevada received scoring cards from Harold Dobernecker (34-36–70), Tyler Sansgaard (37-34–71), Kyle Linder (37-38–75) and Dylan Sporrer (38-39-77).
Perry was led by Isaac Noble’s 44-49–93, with Zach Darr second for the Jays with a 61-59–120. Sebastian Hernandez shot 64–71–135 and Eli Noble a 69-76–145. Brady Herman (85-92–177) also played for the Jays but did not have his score tabulated.
Derek Shanno paced DC-G with a 38-37–75. Darren Werth (43-38–81), Keegan Bianchi (39-44–83) and Carter Bowen (44-42–86) also scored for the Mustangs.
Individual qualifiers advancing (from outside the top two teams) were Dylan Bangs (35-40–75) of Boone and Spencer Clatt (37-40–77) of Gilbert.
