Perry junior Conner Nielsen curled this putt into the cup on the seventh hole at the Perry Golf and Country Club during a match last season.

WINTERSET — Host Winterset shot a combined 173 Thursday to eclipse both Perry and North Polk in a boys golf triangular. Perry finished with a score of 190, with North Polk checking in at 196.

Tanner Duffy led Perry with a team-low round of 43, with Luke Rathje shooting a 46. Connor Nielsen’s 48 and Gabe Ridnour’s 52 were both also used for the Perry team total, but a round of 54 from Emilio Gonzalez was not.

“The boys played pretty well today and we saw some of our fourth and fifth golfers’ scores go down, which always helps out team score out,” Perry head coach John Fulton said. “Tanner and Luke keep playing well and if they could have avoided a big score on a couple of holes they would have been right around their season averages.”

Individual scoring from the Huskies and Comets was not provided, nor was medalist information.

Perry will host their annual 18-hole Bluejay Invitational today at the Perry Golf and Country Club. Play begins at 8:30 a.m. with ADM, Carlisle, Gilbert, Greene County, Norwalk and Woodward-Granger expected to attend.
