PLEASANTVILLE — The Perry boys golfers fell victim to the curse that often strikes anyone playing the game — the one or two bad holes that turn a decent round into a frustrating result.

Bondurant-Farrar won Tuesday’s triangular with a total team score of 171, with Perry tying Carlisle with identical scores of 197.

Connor Nielsen and Luke Rathje each had rounds of 47 for Perry, with Tanner Duffy shooting a 49 and Emilio Gonzalez a 54. Kyle Lockwood’s round of 59 was not used for the team total.

Nielsen found himself playing holes one and two at seven-over par, with a birdie on the third hole easing some of the damage. Rathje had his issues as well, with a 12 on the par-5 fifth hole.

“We had a rough time of it out there in Pleasantville,” Perry head coach John Fulton said. “Each of the boys had one or two bad holes that inflated those scores a little bit, but other than those holes they played pretty good golf. We just need to limit those big numbers that can let a round get away from us.”

Jayden Brady and Caleb Barnett of B-F claimed medalist and runner-up medalist honors with rounds of 40 and of 43, respectively. Cards of 44 from both Mason Storey and Isaac Hanson completed the B-F scoring, with Seth Moeller (55) and Asheton Puckett (64) having their rounds untabulated.

Carlisle was led by Braxton Hinders (45) and Ethan Wright (48), with Mason Tyler and Avery Gronewold each finishing at 52. The Wildcats did not use scores of 56 from Vaughn Gibson and of 60 from Aiden Smith.

Perry returns to action Thursday at the Woodward-Granger boys invitational, an 18-hole event that will tee off at 1 p.m.2
