Bluejay grapplers win two of three matches in quadrangular

JEWELL — Perry competed three times Tuesday in a wrestling triangular hosted by South Hamilton, with the Bluejays winning two of three duals.

Perry topped Nevada, 51-23, while also defeating South Hamilton, 41-39. Ogden stopped Perry, 60-15, while also besting Nevada (70-12) and South Hamilton (42-35), with South Hamilton a 42-30 victor over Nevada.

Cole Nelson had pins at both 120 and 126 while also receiving a forfeit to record three wins for Perry, with Tanner Burgin recording two pins and a 7-1 decision to also finish 3-0.

Juan Hernandez (145 pounds) was 2-1 with two pins, as was Keegan Snyder (160) while heavyweight Alan Gomez was 2-1 with a pin and a forfeit.

Anthony Tlaceca (152) was 1-2 with a pin, with Brian Hernandez (182) 1-2 with a forfeit. Ian Castellanos (132) picked up a forfeit and lost once at 126 while also dropping a match at 132, with Kyle Hernandez collecting a forfeit at 132.

Kain Killmer earned a 7-3 decision at 170, with Jose Chavez dropping two matches at 170 while Leonard Jacobson (195) was unable to grab a win in three matches. Kevin Colin was also in action, finishing 1-2 with a pin at 220.

Perry left 106 open in all three matches and 120 open twice.
