Perry's Ever Tobar (13) rips a shot at the ADM goal last season. Tobar scored three times Thursday at Carlisle.

CARLISLE — Fifth-ranked Perry moved to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in Raccoon River Conference boys soccer with an 8-0 victory over host Carlisle Thursday.

“We don’t keep track of this statistic, but if we did I would have to say that our possession was about 80-85 percent,” Perry head coach Gary Overla said. “The kids played very well and kept up a maximum effort throughout the contest.”

One of Perry’s goals came on a penalty kick, with the remaining seven all assisted scores.

Ever Tobar found the net three times for a hat trick, with Johnathon Castro scoring twice. Rudy Sarceno, Anthony Velasco and Jehovany Rivera also stretched the onion bag for the visitors.

Mike Echevarria (saves n/a) earned the shutout in goal for the Bluejays.

The Perry junior varsity was a 1-0 victor Thursday. Andrew Galino had the game-winner for the Jays.

Perry will host Des Moines East Monday before entertaining Grinnell Friday.
