STORM LAKE — Panora’s Tyme Boettcher, representing Perry Elks Lodge 407, won the 12-13 year old girls District Hoop Shoot contest Saturday.
The format requires each contestant to shoot 25 free throws. Boettcher splashed 19 of her attempts to defeat entrants from Ames, Estherville, Jefferson and Sioux City.
The victory qualifies Boettcher for the State Hoop Shoot, which will be held Feb. 9 in Grinnell. A win at the state event would qualify Boettcher for the North Central Region 3 Hoop Shoot semifinals in Iowa City March 9.
