The Boone offense scored the final 11 runs of Thursday’s Raccoon River Conference softball game with host Perry, pulling away from a 3-2 lead to record a 14-2 win in five innings.

Perry (3-18, 0-9) countered a run from Boone (15-8, 7-4) in the first with one of their own in the bottom of the frame, then scored once more after the Toreadors scored twice in the top of the second.

Boone added two third inning runs and a fourth-inning tally to widen their advantage to 6-2, then put the game on ice with an eight-spot in the fifth.

Emily Ades and Zoey Hightshoe each hit both a single and a home run for the visitors, with Emma Dighton hitting two doubles and a home run while driving in four runs. Dighton is now hitting .508 with nine home runs and 26 RBIs.

Ades won in the circle after allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk. She struck out one batter.

Jayna Kenney and Kennedy Tunink each hit a double for the Jayettes, with Cassidy Heck and Peyton Tunink adding base hits. Lydia Olejniczak and Kathryn West scored the Perry runs.

Kenney allowed 13 runs (11 earned) on 13 hits, three walks and a hit batter in 4-2/3 innings on the rubber. Peyton Tunink recorded one out (a strikeout) and yielded a run on a walk, a hit batsman and two hits.

Perry visits Carlisle tonight and Des Moines North Tuesday before hosting Bondurant-Farrar Wednesday and traveling to Ballard Thursday. Wednesday’s contest will be the final home game of the season for the Jayettes, who will honor seniors Heck, Gabby West and Adriana Eastman.
