The Perry volleyball team, shown here in the 2018 Pink Out, will be donning their cancer awareness uniforms Thursday during the Jayette Invite as part of the Dig For a Cure promotion.

Carroll was the guest for Tuesday’s Raccoon River Conference volleyball match at Perry. The host Jayettes had designated the contest as their annual “Dig For a Cure” outing, designed to raise awareness of, and funds for the battle against, breast cancer.

Funds raised by the Perry netters will be donated to Dallas County Relay For Life.

The Tigers improved to 18-10 overall and 4-0 in RRC action with the 3-0 win. Carroll won the first set, 25-16, and the second, 25-11. A 25-14 win in the third set ended the match early.

Perry fell to 4-23 with the loss. The Jayettes are 0-5 in conference play.

Kacy Nevitt led the Perry offense with eight kills, with Jasmine Shriver adding four kills while Magley Orellana, Peyton Tunink and Quinn Whiton had one kill apiece. Whiton had 11 assists, with Nevitt and Shriver notching one assist each.
