CARROLL — Perry played host Carroll much closer in both sides of their Raccoon River Conference set Tuesday, but the outcome remained a pair of lopsided losses.

Carroll (10-4, 6-2) sank nine first-half 3-pointers to open a 40-19 halftime lead en route to a 70-40 win over Perry (5-9, 0-8) in the girls game, with the Tiger boys (11-1, 7-1) dominating the offensive glass in posting a 73-44 victory over the Bluejays (3-9, 1-7). Carroll had won, 75-28, in girls action and by a 71-20 gulf in boys play, in Perry, Dec. 6.

The Jayettes have struggled to stop teams from scoring at well on the perimeter and were hamstrung again Tuesday, as the Tigers hit nine of their 10 total treys before the intermission.

Perry played a much better third quarter, with Molly Lutmer hitting three 3-pointers in scoring 11 points in the frame, with Jayna Kenney adding a trey as the guests outscored their hosts, 14-6. The spurt cut the deficit to 46-33, but the Tigers responded with a 24-7 fourth quarter to ice the contest.

Lutmer led Perry with 18 points, of which 16 came in the second half. Lydia Olejniczak added 10 points, Hannah Peterson seven and Kenney five.

Every player in uniform scored for the hosts, with Laura Sweeney leading the way with five treys for 15 points. Ashley Onken had 11 points, Kennedy Lein and Ella Collison nine apiece and Hannah Jorgensen and Josie Ayala six each. Kelsie Reicks had five points and Gabbi Hammer three, with Addi Kloester, Vanessa Ayala and Chloe Gallegos all scoring two points apiece.

Carroll held leads of 18-6 and of 32-11 after each of the first two quarters of the boys game. At one point the Tigers had seven field goals, of which six came behind the 3-point arc.

Perry trailed, 56-27, entering the fourth quarter and was unable to trim the margin.

The Bluejays had their best shooting night at the foul line, sinking 13-of-18, but were victimized on the offensive glass despite 11 rebounds from Keghan West.

West finished with 13 points, three behind the team-high of 16 produced by Brendan Ivory, of which 14 came after the intermission. Chase Archer provided eight points, Kato Dougan five and Caden Steva two to cap the Perry scoring.

Kaleb Booth had 18 points, Karter Lein 12 and Nicolas Macke 11. Zachary Schimmer had nine points and Kelin Jones eight, with Colby Christensen and Treyton Goins five each while Eliot Tidgren and Taylor Moore had two points each.

Perry hosts ADM Friday and then entertains Madrid Saturday for a girls/boys set that will begin at 1 p.m.
