UNDERWOOD — A 13-8 setback at Underwood Friday dropped the Panorama baseball team to 0-6 to begin the season.

The loss follows a twinbill throttling Thursday of 19-0, in four innings, and of 8-0 by Van Meter, which came on the heels of an 8-0 Wednesday loss at Ogden.

Eight Underwood runs offset a two-run top of the first by Panorama Friday, but the Panthers answered with a five-run second to close to within 8-7. Two runs in the third and one in the fourth moved the hosts into an 11-7 lead, with the Panthers scoring once, and the Eagles twice, in the fifth to cap the scoring.

Koltin Sloss threw 3-2/3 innings in suffering the loss. He allowed 11 runs (one unearned) on seven hits and six walks while striking out three. Preston Walker went 2-1/3 frames on the hill, yielding two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks while fanning one.

Luke South had a single and a home run, driving in two runs and scoring twice for Panorama. Sloss was 4-for-4 with a RBI, with Jacob Iseminger having a single, a double and a RBI. Levi Richey, Preston Walker and Dominic Walker each had two hits, with each scoring once.

The Bulldog offense exploded as the home team in the nightcap. Potthoff had two singles, a double, three runs and two RBIs, with Carson Rhodes scoring three times while providing a single and a triple while Durflinger hit two doubles and drove in three runs.

Mitch Pomeroy threw four innings, allowing a single and a double to South and striking out one. South also stole a base.

Hunter Holmes was touched for 12 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits and three walks in 1-1/3 innings. Dominic Walker pitched one inning, allowing five runs on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts, while Preston Walker yielded two runs on three hits with one strikeout.

The Panthers had run into another stout pitching performance on May 30, with Ogden’s Carter Church striking out three, walking none and allowing just three hits in a complete game triumph.

Richey, South and Tanner Godfrey had singles for Panorama.

Iseminger pitched 5-1/3 innings. He surrendered three runs (one earned) on three hits and five walks while striking out three. Holmes recorded two outs while allowing two unearned runs on three hits and fanning one. Sloss finished up with one frame on the bump, with three runs (one earned) scoring on two hits and two walks.
