WOODWARD — Nearly 100 souls braved chili varieties ranging from the hot, to the hot n’ spicy, the h-h-h-hot, the vegetarian and the more mild, tomato-heavy types at the Woodward Friends n’ Neighbors Chili Feed fundraiser at the W-G high school Sunday.

An even dozen offerings were available for sampling, with votes cast for favorites.

The grand prize went to Jon Eddins, with Twila Sprott the runner-up while Joseph Cox placed third.

A dodgeball competition was also held, with The Cheetahs topping The Ouch! in a spirited competition held in the W-G gym.

Funds raised will be dedicated to a fireworks display at the conclusion of Friends n’ Neighbors Day, an annual community gathering and celebration that will be held June 4.
