City departments earn $478 from Saturday bike, equipment sales

The city's bicycle and abandoned property sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 16 from 8-10 a.m. in the partking lot of the Perry Public Safety building at 908 Willis Ave.

The Perry Public Library, Perry Parks and Recreation Department and Perry Police Department netter $478 from the sale Saturday of abandoned bicycles and other miscellaneous city gear.

The Perry Public Library sold a bicycle and a cart and made off with $30 for its literary purposes.

The Parks and Recreation Department brought in $50 for two push lawnmowers.

The Police Department racked up sales of $398 for its collection of unclaimed bicycles and other abandoned property and unused equipment. A few unsold bicycles remained after the sale.

“This money will email deposited into the General Fund for each department to use for unbudgeted expenditures,” according to Perry Finance Officer Susie Moorhead.
