January 29, 2020

  • Ashley Klosterman of Linden was traveling east in the 12000 block of 270th Street when her vehicle dropped off the roadway and onto the shoulder, and she lost control of the vehicle, which entered the westbound lane and hit a Dallas County Secondary Roads Department snow plow. No injuries were reported. Damage to Klosterman’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000, and damage to the snow plow was estimated at $1,000.

January 30, 2020

  • Madison Wasson of Panora was traveling west on Iowa Highway 44 when her vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch, flipping onto its roof. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000, and damage to fencing was estimated at $2,000. Wasson was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.

January 31, 2020

  • Shawna Marie Davis, 43, of Des Moines was arrested on warrants for probation violation on original charges of unauthorized use of a credit card and theft.

February 1, 2020

  • Lucas Bilbrey of Yale was traveling in the 17000 block of Iowa Highway 141 and was watching snowmobiles in the ditch that were traveling the same direction in order to ensure they did not enter the roadway when he looked up and saw in his lane a vehicle driven by Daniel Burnside that was stopped while waiting to turn. Bilbrey’s vehicle struck Burnside’s vehicle from the rear. No injuries were reported. Damage to Burnside’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000, and damage to Bilbrey’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500. Bilbrey was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
  • Smerlin M. Pena Ulloa, 30, of 500 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on original charge of domestic abuse assault and violation of a no-contact order.
  • Andrew Dean Schirman, 42, of 302 10th St., Perry, was arrested in the 22000 block of Iowa Highway 141 for OWI, open container, improper use of lanes and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
