Jan. 13, 2022

  • Chad Overton, 44, of 3055 River Trail, Menlo, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.
  • Jacob Zwiefel, 33, of 405 44th St., Des Moines, was arrested for OWI and driving while license denied or revoked and issued citations for failure to provide proof of financial liability and speeding.
  • Creighton Netten of Van Meter was traveling northbound in the 33000 block of R Avenue when he lost control due to the icy roads, and his vehicle entered ditch and struck a tree. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $4,000.
  • Alexis Olsen of Waukee was traveling westbound on 360th Street near Ute Avenue when she slowed to make a turn and sideswiped a vehicle, driven by Monte Jimmerson of Van Meter. No injuries were reported. Damage to Jimmerson’s vehicle was estimated at $7,000, and damage to Olsen’s vehicle was estimated at $6,000.
  • Craig Nelson of Minburn was traveling in the 22000 block of Iowa Highway 141 when his vehicle collided with a vehicle, driven by Mandy Jurgens of Bayard. No injuries were reported. Damage to Jurgens’ vehicle was estimated at $3,000, and damage to Nelson’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
  • Marco Ruelas of Perry was traveling in the 16000 block of J Avenue when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $10,000.
  • Brittany Smith of Van Meter was traveling in the 25000 block of 360th Street when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $1,500.

Jan. 14, 2022

  • Breonna Tolle of Granger was traveling in the 30000 block of U.S. Highway 6 when she swerved, and her vehicle struck a sign. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
