May 18, 2018

  • Joshua Keubler of 20096 Wendover Place, Dallas Center, reported unauthorized use of his credit card.
  • Todd Thomas Ofelt, 53, of 2425 Tracey Ave., Van Meter, was arrested on a warrant for domestic abuse.
  • Rodney Demetrious Adams, 22, of 1204 Johnson St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation on an original charge of possession of contraband in a correctional institution.
  • Manuel Ochoa, 27, of 1716 W. Third St., Perry, was arrested on charges of theft, controlled substance violation, failure to affix drug stamp, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a felon.
  • Maria Blanco Sarmiento of Des Moines was traveling in the 25000 block of Iowa Highway 141 when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
  • Nathan Meyers of Woodward was traveling on Iowa Highway 141 and turning onto 170th when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Carla Betts of Perry. No injuries were reported. Damage to Betts’ vehicle was estimated at $5,000, and damage to Meyers’ vehicle was estimated at $2,000. Betts was issued a citation for failure to stop in a safe and assured distance.

May 19, 2018

  • Albert Neumann of 33317 G Trail, Earlham, reported vandalism to his mail box.
  • Ricky James Brammer, 46, of 2170 N.W. 82nd St., Clive, was arrested on a warrant for theft.
  • Gregory Lee, 52, of 8601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of compulsory-education violation.
  • Tyler Bretsch of Waukee was traveling in the 26000 block of K Avenue and delivering mail when he slowed down to drop off mail in a mailbox when he was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Kendra Gliem of Perry. No injuries were reported. Damage to Bretsch’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000, and damage to Gliem’s vehicle was estimated at $8,000. There was heavy rain at the time of the accident. Gliem was issued a citation for failure to top in a safe and assured distance.

May 20, 2018

  • Nichole Brown of 4422 University Ave., Des Moines, reported someone broke into her mother’s residence at 21522 360th St. and stole her mower.
  • Haley Keubler, 23, of 628 Brodie Lane, Madrid, was arrested for theft and unauthorized use of a credit card.
