Dorothy V. Newbrough, 102, of Woodward passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023, at her home in Woodward, Iowa.
Dorothy was born May 24, 1921, in Dallas County, Iowa, daughter of Frank and Victoria (Hutchens) Meacham.
She graduated from Redfield High School in 1938.
On June 20, 1957, Dorothy married Paul Newbrough, and they made their home in Woodward.
She was a member of the Woodward United Methodist Church.
In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, attending the Girls State Basketball Tournament, puzzles, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; daughter, Linda Feller; brothers, Floyd Meacham, Ivan Meacham, Leonard Meacham and Dean Meacham; and her sisters, Louise Miller and Phyllis Ayres.
Dorothy is survived by daughters, Sandy (Russell-deceased) Bice of Granger and Paula Newbrough of Woodward; son-in-law, Mike Feller of Woodward; sisters, Treva Melton of Perry, Ruby Lenze of Adel and Donna Belgarde of Earlham; brother-in-law, Dick Miller of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27 at the Woodward United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Monday, June 26 from 4-6 p.m. Burial will be in the Woodward Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Woodward United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Midwest.
