Danville High School, located between Mt. Pleasant and Burlington, is mourning the loss of junior Jace Garner, who was killed in an auto accident Wednesday.

WAYLAND — WACO hosted a Class 1A State Qualifying Track Meet Thursday, and Danville was one of the teams in action.

Missing, however, was Jace Garner, a sprinter for the Bears. The junior had died Wednesday in an auto accident, leaving his community in a state of shock.

Ben Schuff of Burlington newspaper The Hawk Eye was on hand to cover the meet, and captured how Garner’s team — and all the others present — chose to honor their friend.

Schuff’s video needs no further description.
