The third annual Dallas County Farm Bureau Cram the Cab Campaign raised one-third more in cash and groceries over last year’s week-long food drive thanks to the generosity of customers of the Perry Fareway.

The third annual Cram the Cab Campaign saw the Dallas County Farm Bureau and the Perry Fareway team up to collect hundreds of donated food items and raise $1,352.74 in rounded-up cash from Fareway customers.

The Cram the Cab food drive challenged Fareway customers to cram with groceries the cab of a tractor provided by VanWall Equipment.

Janet Hick, Dallas County Farm Bureau office manager, coordinated the Dallas County Farm Bureau food drive in friendly competition with the Greene County Farm Bureau. Hick said deliveries of cash and food stuffs will be made to each of Dallas County’s seven food pantries.

Fareway cashier Amber Kenyon won the cash register challenge and took home a gift card for raising the highest donation total. This year’s fundraiser brought in more than 30 percent more than the 2017 total.
