A jolly spirit reigned Thursday evening at the Spring Valley Retirement Community during the fourth annual Christmas Tour of Homes and Wine Walk, where residents and guests enjoyed live Christmas music, wine, cheese, nativity sets and door prizes.
Nine tenants at Spring Valley Retirement Community — Wilma Collins, Pam Maher, Carm Staker, Ken and Sue Finer, Hilda Allen, Shirley Harvey and Doris McCorkle — opened their holiday homes and warmly welcomed guests for a tour of their Christmas-themed rooms.
“This event is a great time to catch up with old friends and meet new,” said the Rev. Max Phillips, CEO of the Perry Lutheran Homes.
In addition to Christmas décor, more than 50 nativity sets were on display throughout the Spring Valley campus, and guests were encouraged to count the number of nativity sets and make their best guess for a chance to win a door prize.
