GREENFIELD — The Panorama girls basketball team is ranked fifth in Class 2A. The Panthers are talented enough that having one or two cagers playing well is enough to top almost all comers. When the whole unit is playing well, well …

Panorama (14-1, 10-0) was hardly tested Saturday in claiming a 61-33 non-conference win at Nodaway Valley (11-3 overall), less than 24 hours after recording a 68-28 victory at West Central Valley (5-7, 3-6) in WCAC play.

The Panthers wasted little time in showing they would accept no nonsense Saturday, storming to leads of 25-4 after one quarter and of 39-16 at the half. By the end of the third quarter the guests held a 59-23 edge and cruised from there.

Hope Wilderman and Morgan Johnk had 15 points apiece, with Bailey Beckman adding 12 points and Devyn Kemble 10. Kellie Prince added three points, with Faith Powell, Brooke Halterman and Nicole Rolfes providing two points apiece.

Wilderman had six rebounds and three assists and Johnk five rebounds, with Kemble making six steals while Prince contributed three assists and three thefts.

WCV stayed somewhat within range Friday, trailing only 11-6 after eight minutes. A 24-7 second quarter but Panorama into a 35-13 halftime lead, with the margin swelling to 55-20 after a further eight minutes of action.

Kemble had 17 points, Beckman 16 and Johnk and Anna Holloway 11 apiece to fuel the win. Powell provided five points, with Prince, Wilderman, Halterman and Lydia Knapp scoring two points apiece.

The Panthers had 27 steals in the game, with Beckman making eight thefts, Johnk seven and Wilderman four. Wilderman contributed four assists and Prince three, with Kemble pulling down six rebounds.

Panorama hosts Earlham tonight and will entertain AC/GC Friday.
