The Perry First United Methodist Church recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Spanish-language service with musical entertainment followed by a traditional Peruvian meal.
Guest musician and speaker was Mauro Magdiel of Ottumwa, whose performance included a song written by Rev. Rosa Panchas-Soto, pastor of the UMC Latino service, who also prepared the post-service meal.
Many Spanish services exist for less than two years, so the Perry congregation is very thankful, they said.
