Four Jayettes earn All-Raccoon River Conference soccer honors

The Perry girls soccer squad hams it up before facing Des Moines Lincoln at the Newton Tournament om April.

Three Perry players were named to the All-Raccoon River Conference girls soccer second team, with one earning honorable mention status. Perry was 6-11 overall and finished 2-5 in league play.

Freshman Sydney Guerra led the team with 10 goals and added two assists to earn a spot on the second team, with senior midfielder Erica Tenold (one goal) also named, primarily for her defensive presence on the pitch.

They were joined on the second team by senior Glenda Cruz. Despite playing in only a handful of games at the end of the season, Cruz scored five times and showed the kind of difference she may have made if a full season had been in the offing.

Grace Marburger scored three times and led Perry with six assists, numbers which helped the sophomore earn a spot in the honorable mention list.
