Perry’s Freedom for Youth Center held a Freedom Breakfast fundraiser Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until noon, serving pancakes and sausages to all comers and introducing the resources of their Christian outreach programs for youth.

The Perry Freedom Center opened in 2013 at 1210 Second St. The recently remodeled space includes a kitchen, a large living room and activities area and room for tutoring.

Freedom for Youth Site Director Diana Yepez is starting her second year at the Perry center. Yepez directs the programming while also organizing volunteers, arranging meals and promoting the center.

During the school year, the Perry center is open Mondays from 4-6 p.m. for middle school and high school programs. Elementary school children attend Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m., and children of all ages are welcome Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m. for worship, Bible study and homework help. Thursdays find the center open for high school youth from 4-6 p.m.

The New Opportunities Dallas County Family Development Center will soon operate next door at 1212 Second St.

For more information about the Perry Freedom for Youth Center, contact Yepez at dyepez@freedomforyouth.org.
