Among the many highlights this season for the Perry Summer Swim Team was the dominance of their 15-18 girls relay team.
Jaylene Karolus, Quin Mahler-Moreno, Sophia McDevitt, and Jenna Nelson were first to the wall in every race this season in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Freestyle Relay.
The quartet won the former at the Iowa West Swim Conference meet July 11 at Glidden in 2 minutes, 1.91 seconds, beating the runner-up by 4.81 seconds. Their 1:50.5 clocking in the latter created a winning margin of 3.78 ticks.
Perry finished fifth overall in the team standings at the IWSC meet. They were 7-2 in dual meet competition, and had a bevy of team members earn honors for their efforts in the pool this summer.
Perry was coached by Abby Herman and Riese Archer (who also competed at 15-18).
