A huge crowd gathered in downtown Perry late Friday afternoon for the annual Chamber of Commerce Spooktacular Halloween celebration from 4-6 p.m.

Innumerable costumed youngsters — and a good number of made-up adults — flowed along Second and Railroad streets, where candy and snacks were plentiful. Dinosaurs were particularly prominent this year, and specimens once though extinct were out in force with their outdated ways.

The fun continued from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Dallas County Hospital Safe and Healthy Trunk-or-Treat drive-through event, with treats provided by the COVID Destroyers, the Farmer Females and many others.

Several businesses, retirements homes and local venues also welcomed Trick-or-Treaters — the Hamlin Bell commons was especially lavishly decorated — with a large number of excited youngsters spreading throughout Perry’s neighborhoods as well.

ThePerryNews.com wishes its ghostly readers a happy Halloween!
