Perry property owners who hate taxation will find much to love in the fiscal year 2020 (FY20) budgets of the city of Perry, the county of Dallas, the Perry Community School District and the Dallas County Hospital because the mill rates levied by all four taxing entities will decrease next year.

The levy rates will not become official until officially set by the county auditor, but the proposed rates as approved by each taxing entity are as follows:

  • A city rate of $17.80 per $1,000 of valuation, a reduction of about 7 cents from FY19
  • A county rate of $6.50 per $1,000 of valuation, a reduction of about 15 cents from FY19
  • A school district rate of $20.78 per $1,000 of valuation, a reduction of about 75 cents from FY19
  • A county hospital rate of $3.99 per $1,000 of valuation, a reduction of about $1.40 from FY19.
