Harper Rose’s Floral and Gifts at 503 First Ave. celebrated two months in business Friday morning with a ribbon cutting courtesy of about 30 members of the Perry Chamber of Commerce.
Owner Cherie Welch of Perry has not been idle since the store opened Oct. 8., and what was then a vacant sales floor is now filled with all kinds of Christmas beauties.
Customers now find a full-service flower store ready to beautify everything from weddings and funerals to proms and homecomings — and Christmastime.
After the cutting of the ribbon, Welch made a heartfelt speech.
“I’m a crier,” she said, her welling eyes proving her words. “This has been such a wonderful experience. I am very blessed.”
Welch said she counts her staff members among her blessings: Connie Sheehy, Rachelle Boston, Julie Tibbles and JoAnne Harmelink.
Also divine were the seven-layer bars some thoughtful baker made for the occasion, and the hot cider was perfectly suited to the cold morning.
