DES MOINES — Woodward-Granger was hardly challenged Friday in claiming a 14-0, five-inning non-conference win over host Des Moines North.[wpedon id=”82220″ align=”center”]

W-G (8-2) is on a five-game win streak, albeit against teams with a combined record of 3-38. The Hawks have posted a 64-10 scoring edge during the run.

DM North (1-10) received two singles from Noah Anderson and a base hit from Austin Spencer while being issued one walk to account for their four base runners in the loss.

Cole Theisen finished with five strikeouts in picking up the win from the mound.

Theisen aided his own cause with a single, a triple and two RBIs while Matt Buch had two singles, a double and a RBI. Brandon Worley had two hits and two RBIs, and Hunter Pifer two hits, with Joe Rhodes driving in three runs while scoring three times.

Jay Dorenkamp and Nick Brummond stole three bases apiece, with Dorenkamp scoring three times while Jack Grell had two RBIs and a base hit.

W-G hosts Des Moines Christian Monday, visits Earlham Tuesday and then hosts Panorama Thursday for a varsity doubleheader.
