WOODWARD — Pleasantville claimed both sides of a conference softball doubleheader with host Woodward-Granger Thursday, with the Trojans exploding for a 15-0 win in four innings in the opener and then posting a 9-4 victory in the nightcap.

Pleasantville ace Abby DeJoode allowed one hit and one walk while striking out 10. A sacrifice bunt and fly out were the only non-strikeout she allowed the Hawks.

Emma Anderson walked in the first inning and Audrey Simmons singled in the second to account for the two W-G base runners.

Rian Jamison allowed 15 runs on 14 hits with three walks and a hit batter. She struck out one.

Rather than curl up and go away after the landslide, the Hawks displayed resiliency by scrapping hard in the nightcap.

Anderson singled, stole and base and scored on a Natalie Weaver hit in the first, with Katelyn Scharlau doubling home Weaver as W-G — the visitor — opened a 2-0 lead.

The Trojans grabbed a 5-2 lead after the second, but Anderson blasted a solo home run in the third, although Pleasantville countered with a tally of their own to move the score to 6-3 at the end of three innings.

Weaver singled and scored on another Scharlau double later in the game, but it was not enough to alter the outcome.

Maddi Danti also had a double for the Hawks, with Ava Petersen and Simmons adding hits.

Petersen allowed nine runs on 10 hits, two walks and a hit batsman while fanning two.

W-G plays Lewis Central at 10 a.m. and Perry at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Hawk Classic.
