Hawks roll past visiting Cardinals

The Woodward-Granger netters remained hot Tuesday, winning the sixth of their last seven matches.

WOODWARD — The recent hot streak for the Woodward-Granger volleyball team continued Tuesday as the Hawks swept Earlham, 25-22, 25-11 and 25-9.

W-G had now won six of their last seven matches and are 15-2 in sets played during the stretch.

Individual stats from the Earlham game were not available, with but entering the contest Elly Polich led the team with 152 kills, with Natalie Weaver adding 118 while Emma Drake led the unit with 260 assists.

Drake is 205-of-220 serving with 28 aces to pace the attack, with Katelyn Bandstra 165-175-19 behind the line.

Darby Nixon’s 205 digs leads the defense, with Katelyn Scharlau and Brayten Ashman responsible for 13 blocks apiece.

W-G visits Ogden Tuesday and Pleasanvtille Oct. 3 in their next two matches.
