The PHS drama department’s production of “Robin Hood” opened Friday night before a crowd of about 100 at the Perry Performing Arts Center.

The show was brief at about 75 minutes, including the 10-minute intermission. Without wishing to spoil the story for readers planning a Saturday attendance, the moral of the story is delivered by Friar Tuck, played by Kaylynn Bousman”

And so goes the legend of Robin Hood, the valiant yeoman who helped England’s poor peasants and serfs survive twelfth-century England. Now as a man of the cloth, I would never suggest robbery is ever right but as a wandering bard, a troubador of sorts, a balladeer, I will forever tell these exploits of this Robin Hood so the future generations know that once in Sherwood Forest there was a man who dared to stand up to the evils of tyrants and in doing so saved thousands.

The production concludes Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Perry Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
