Big numbers are expected Feb. 20 at Perry High School for the 32nd Annual Band Olympics. The musical spectacle will draw musicians from 11 area schools, who will compete for judges in a variety of both solo and ensemble performances.
Brandon Weeks, Perry Community School District Director of Bands, noted “This event is one of the largest of its kind in the United States. The contest is run almost entirely by the Perry students in high school band, and it is our single biggest fundraiser throughout the year.”
The event will begin at 8 a.m. and will continue until 4:30 p.m.
