VAN METER — A WCAC doubleheader Thursday went in favor of host Van Meter, who claimed wins of 3-1 and of 3-2 over Panorama.
Drew Taylor was handed the tough-luck loss in the opener, with the Panther senior touched for three runs (two earned) on six hits in six frames. He finished with five strikeouts.
Evan Taylor had a single, a double and a run scored, with Ryan Kling adding a single. Drew Taylor and Brice Taylor each had two base hits, with Drew Taylor scoring.
Brice Taylor yielded two runs (one earned) on seven hits in five innings in the nightcap. Preston Walker allowed a run on two hits, a walk and a hit batsman. Taylor had five strikeouts and Walker one.
Austin Block hit a double and drew a walk, with Evan Taylor, Brice Taylor, and Walker having one single each. Walker also earned a bases on balls.
