For the last 19 years, Larry Vodenik, community events coordinator at the Perry Hy-Vee, has taken photos of kids with the Easter Bunny, but this year the novel coronavirus global pandemic has forced our the fun to take a different form.
To give area youngsters a chance to safely celebrate this spring tradition, the Hy-Vee Easter Bunny will be waving at the kids from a safe distance as they pick up their meals at the Perry Elementary School Friday, April 10 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
To reach even more youngsters, the Perry Hy-Vee and will partner with the Perry Volunteer Fire Department for an Easter Bunny parade Sunday, April 12 from 1-2:30 p.m. Kids will be able to wave at the Easter Bunny from inside their cars as they drive through Pattee Park.
