WINTERSET — The Perry girls played their final nine holes in competition before visiting Newton’s Westwood Golf Course Friday for the Class 4A Region 2 tournament.

Joining Perry will be the host Cardinals as well as ADM, Ballard, Bondurant-Farrar, Carlisle, DC-G, Fairfield, Knoxville, Norwalk, Pella and Winterset.

Tuesday’s action saw DC-G shoot a winning combined score of 210, with Perry carding a 219 and Winterset a 233. Perry sophomore Alyssa Kruger was the meet medalist with a round of 49, with DC-G’s Julia Austin the medalist runner-up on a card of 50.

“Alyssa won and Hannah (Roberts) and Skylar (Cunningham) are continuing to show steady improvement,” Perry head coach Joel Happel said. “All the girls are giving strokes away around the green.”

Roberts and Cunningham each had rounds of 55, with Ellie Nielsen the fourth scorer for the Jayettes with a 60. Madyson Hill and Delaney Eiteman made the trip south as well, though neither scored in their first varsity action as the former tallied a 77 and the latter a 79.

BrookLynn Herrmann (51), Lydia Steier (54) and Reagan Stokely (55) were the remaining three scores used by DC-G, with Winterset counting the rounds of Beth Stolte (51), Maddy Fairholm (60), Corri Pickering (60) and Ellie Easter (62).
