CARROLL — Jacqueline Guardado and Natalie Martinez each scored three times and Syd Guerra added two goals in the final two minutes of play as Perry plastered Carroll, 8-0, in Raccoon River Conference play Thursday.
The win lifts Perry to 9-3 overall and secures second place in the RRC with a 6-1 mark. Carroll fell to 1-10 and 0-6 with the loss.
Molly Lutmer played a key role as well with three assists in the contest. She set up goals from Guardado in the sixth and eighth minutes of play, then fed Martinez for a goal in the 34th minute. Martinez added an unassisted goal two minutes later to send Perry into the intermission with a 4-0 advantage.
Guardado completed her hat trick and found the net for the seventh time this season in the 70th minute, with Martinez capping her own hat trick with an unassisted strike of her own with four minutes to play.
Guerra found the nylon with just over two minutes to play, then scored with 18 seconds remaining off a Martinez pass.
Perry will visit Newton Tuesday and North Polk Thursday before completing their regular season with a home date against Atlantic May 23.
