The Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association has released their All-State teams for both boys and girls, and a pair of Perry players have been included for the honor.

Jayette senior Natalie Martinez was chosen for the Class 2A First Team at forward. She finished with 24 goals and five assists this season and graduated as the career goal-scorer leader for Perry with 93 shots finding the back of the opposition net.

She will continue for career on the pitch for 2017 National Champion and 2018 National Runner-up Tyler Junior College of Texas. The Lady Apaches are 45-2-1 in the past two seasons.

Also recognized was Bluejay junior midfielder Ever Tobar. A strong presence on both offense and defense, Tobar scored 11 times and provided six assists this season. His efforts were rewarded with inclusion on the Class 2A Second Team.

The Jayettes were coached by the recently-resigned Gilmar Guerra, with Gary Overla the head coach of the Bluejays.

Emely Rodriguez watches as Perry teammate Natalie Martinez fires a free kick toward the Winterset goal April 2.
