CARLISLE — Visiting Perry found the back of the net four times and controlled possession of the ball in claiming a 4-1 win over Carlisle in their Raccoon River Conference and season opener Thursday.
The Jayettes were powered by two goals from junior Natalie Martinez, with senior Syd Guerra assisting on one. Guerra herself also scored, as did freshman Lily Rodriguez.
That was more than enough help for goalkeeper Salena Garcia, who allowed one harmless goal in helping the team to victory.
No junior varsity game was played.
Perry was to host Greene County this evening, but the game has been postponed, with no rescheduled date set. Perry will return to action Tuesday when they host Des Moines North at Dewey Field.
