The Perry girls wasted little time in seizing control of Tuesday’s non-conference game with visiting Fort Dodge St. Edmond, racing to a 13-3 lead after eight minutes to help fuel a 41-22 victory.

The Jayettes (2-0) entered the half holding a 22-5 advantage and possessed a 36-8 lead after three frame. The Gaels could outscored their hosts, 14-5, in the final eight minutes of play, but by then the issue had long since been decided.

Lydia Olejniczak followed a 28-point first game with 20 points in her second outing of the young season to pace Perry. Maci Tunink added nine points and Jayna Kenney eight, with Callie Steva contributing four points.

Kenney sank two 3-pointers, and Olejniczak and Tunink one each.

Perry finished 9-of-20 at the free throw line while FDSE was just 4-of-15.

The team returns to action Tuesday with a visit to Boone, with a trip to South Hamilton Dec. 3 their first HOIC game. Both dates are boys/girls twinbills.
