The IGHSAU had released the Class 4A and 5A playoff brackets, and Perry will face a familiar foe in the opening round.
Perry (1-16) will travel to Boone (10-6) Feb. 13 for a 4A Region 3 First Round game, with the winner advancing to face host Gilbert (12-5) Feb. 16.
Independence (1-15) will entertain Decorah (2-16) in the other R3 First Round meeting, with that victor moving on to battle host Mason City (10-6) Feb. 16.
The survivors from the top and bottom half of the brackets will meet, at the higher remaining seed, Feb. 19 in the Region 3 Final.
All games will start at 7 p.m.
