  • An officer assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 1000 block of W. Adams Street.
  • An officer removed a bat from the residence at 102 N. Cedar Street.
  • Teresa Skalla reported a suspicious male on the bike trail near the Greene County Elementary School. The male walked away as she approached him. An officer was unable to locate the suspicious person in the area.
  • An officer and an Iowa Department of Human Services case worker received a report of a possible sexual assault that occurred against a dependent adult victim. The investigation into the alleged crime will be handled by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals.
  • An officer and the Jefferson Public Works Director responded to the 100 block of Briarwood Bend for a citizen yelling at the crew that was dropping off new garbage cans. The officer explained to the citizen the proper way to vent his frustrations with the city council.
  • Lynn Watson reported a stray dog near Elm and Brackett streets. The animal was not located by an officer.
  • A retail store reported a gas drive-off from 208 W. Lincoln Way.
  • Pam Mallory requested an officer for a vehicle that cut her off in traffic and then stopped at Elm and Greenewood streets. The officer arrived and learned the other vehicle was an out-of-town drive who was lost and did not mean to cut off the Mallory vehicle. The two drivers spoke and worked out the issue before the officer arrived.
  • An officer was requested at a retail store at 104 N. Locust St. The officer arrived and learned the out-of-towners previously encountered were still in town and lost again. The officer assisted them in finding their way out of town.
  • Officers responded to 1402 Southfield Drive after dispatch received an open line 911 call. The officers spoke to the residents, who were fine and needed no assistance.
  • Kenny Millard reported a female had his uncle’s disability payment card and was using it to purchase items. An officer spoke to the female, who returned the card.
  • Taylor Gruber reported his neighbor’s vehicle was parked in the driveway in the 200 block of S. Cedar Street. The vehicle was running with the door open. An officer spoke to the neighbor, who shut the vehicle off and secured it.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
