  • A traffic stop in the 300 block of S. Oak Street resulted in the arrest of a wanted female passenger. Jessica Lynn Waddell, 36, of Jefferson was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended.
  • Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle at 306 W. Reed St. The property is vacant and bank owned.
  • An officer investigated a backing accident in the parking lot at 204 W. Harrison St. A 2016 Ford F250, owned by the city of Jefferson and operated by Thomas Schilling of Jefferson, backed into a parked vehicle while spreading salt/sand in the lot. The 2011 Toyota Avalon, owned by Marvin Book of Jefferson, had estimated damages of $1,000. The city truck had no reported damage.
  • A traffic stop in the 100 block of N. Elm Street resulted in Tammy Tolsdorf of Jefferson being issued a citation for driving while suspended.
  • A traffic stop performed at South and Maple streets resulted in Paige McCarty of Perry being issued a citation for driving while suspended.
  • A traffic stop performed in the 400 block of N. Pinet Street resulted in Nathaniel Biggart of Jefferson being issued a citation for fail to provide proof of financial liability.
  • Officers assisted with a medical call in the 500 block of N. Elm Street.
  • An officer attempted to stop a passenger car in the 300 block of N. Grimmell Road for a headlight out. The vehicle fled from the officer. The officer began to pursue the fleeing vehicle. The vehicle circled back around and dropped of a female passenger at 1003 W. Wall St. before continuing to flee from the officers. Officers lost visual contact with the vehicle just west of Jefferson. A short time later, a Guthrie County Deputy came across the vehicle in Bagley. After a short chase, the deputy located the vehicle parked in an abandoned farm site just south of Bagley. Officers, with the assistance of a canine, searched the area but did not locate the driver. The vehicle was towed from the area and placed in the impound lot in Jefferson. The female passenger dropped off in Jefferson, Karah Brown, refuses to cooperate with officers by providing information about the driver. The officers believe the vehicle may be stolen form the Omaha area but has not yet been reported as stolen. The investigation continues. The officers were assisted by the Greene County Sheriff’s office, Carroll County Sheriff’s office and Guthrie County Sheriff office.
  • Joe Pittman reported a possible identify fraud occurring in his name. An officer is investigating.
