Knights top Hawks in crosstown battle

WOODWARD, Iowa — The Woodward Academy won their first game of the season Monday, doing so at the expense of rival Woodward-Grange in a game hosted by the Knights in the W-G middle school gym.

Brody Nardini led W-G (1-12) with 24 points, with Carter Moran adding 13 points and Dane Polich 10. Collin Nardini tallied nine points and Josh Hultman seven for the Hawks.

Polich and Brody Nardini each had seven rebounds, with Hultman and Moran pulling down six caroms apiece while Moran added four assists and Brody Nardini five steals.

Scoring for the Knights (1-13) and additional information was not available.

W-G returns to action Friday with a girls/boys WCAC set at Pleasantville.
