Bondurant-Farrar improved to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in Raccoon River Conference volleyball with a 3-0 sweep over host Perry Tuesday. The loss drops the Jayettes to 3-16, 0-4.
The guests won the first set, 25-16, then had two extended scoring runs to post a 25-13 win in the second set. A 25-19 win in the third set ended the match.
Perry head coach John Fulton noted the team was just becoming comfortable with a new, 6-2, rotation, and that he “expected to see improvement once we get used to it.”
“I thought we passed the ball better tonight than we have been, and a couple of girls had nice nights, Gabby West in particular,” Fulton said. “We did not serve well at all, and finished at 82 percent, which is simply not acceptable, so you can bet we will be working on that in practice.”
Jo Diw had six kills for Perry, with Sid Vancil, Kacy Nevitt and West adding two kills apiece while Adriana Eastman, Mackenzie Ayers and Isable Saemisch all had single kills. West and Nevitt each had two blocks above the net.
Vancil distributed 10 assists, with Ayers adding three and West and Quinn Whiton one each.
Libero player Syd Guerra had 11 digs to help the senior top the 500-career digs mark. Diw had nine digs, Magler Orellana six, Saemisch two and Vancil, Whiton and Ayers one apiece.
Vancil was 10-of-11 with one ace while serving, with Diw 7-10-3 and Ayers 6-6-1. Nevitt was 4-6-1 behind the line, with West 5-of-6, Guerra 4-of-5 and Whiton 1-of-1.
Grace Hitze had eight kills, eight digs and three blocks for B-F, with Kate Tidman adding eight kills and eight digs and Kamryn O’Connor seven kills. Megan Kramer made five kills, Devyn Atzen provided 10 digs and Macy Bailey had 27 assists.
Hitze served 12-12-4, Tidman 8-11-3, Atzen 10-12-2 and Lindsey Carter 12-12-1. Kramer was 7-8-2, Bailey 12-of-13 and Libby Clayton 3-3-1.
