Courts, gridirons, streets and roads and pools across Iowa were bustling with activity today as practices began for the upcoming fall sports seasons.

Volleyball, football, cross country, and (where offered) girls swimming all began putting in the necessary work for the coming campaigns.

The Perry football team, under head coach Bryce Pierce, will host Ogden at Dewey Field August 27 in their opener.

The cross country schedule is still a work in progress, but new head coach Shaylena Bell will have several weeks to work her charges into shape.

Coach John Fulton takes the Jayette volleyball team into action for the first time with a Sept. 4 tourney visit to South Central Calhoun. Perry will host their invitational Sept. 9 to open the home court portion of their season.

Also in action will be veteran head coach Jean Dowd and the Perry girls swimmers. The Jayettes visit Ames August 24 before hosting Algona two days later.
