URBANDALE — Des Moines Christian stifled what little offense the Woodward-Granger girls tried to produce Friday en route to a 60-13 humbling in WCAC play.

W-G (1-3, 0-2) was in trouble from the start, falling into a 21-3 hole at the end of the first period. By halftime the margin stood at 38-7, with 13 consecutive points from the hosts to open the second half creating an ugly 49-7 bulge after three quarters had elapsed.

Natalie Helbling had five points for the Hawks, with Katelyn Scharlau adding three points from the foul line. Lisa Pitman and Mae Anderson each had one basket and Alyssa Bice one free throw.

Moriah Prewitt had 18 points to lead the Lions.

W-G will host Saydel for a non-conference contest Monday before visiting Van Meter Friday.
