Upwards of 1,000 Perry-area curiosity seekers attended the four-day Mega Force event at Crossroads Church in Perry, with a record 350 people filling the church’s auditorium on the final night, called World Record Wednesday.

While in town, Mega Force missionaries Steve Carrier and Matt Stout conducted eight separate school assemblies in Perry, Woodward and Ogden on Monday and Wednesday.

The power of faith filled the Crossroads hall as strong men Carrier and Stout, using nothing but their bare hands and the faith in Jesus Christ, smashed bricks, bet iron rods, ripped open soda pop cans and folded frying pans as if they were pot metal.

In one stirring feat, Stout lifted an immense power pole, holding it aloft in a symbolic moment recalling Christ crucified.

According to their website, Megaforce Evangelistic Ministries exists in order to provide “refreshing, soul-winning events” that draw “large masses of un-churched people to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
