GRIMES — Four-time state medalist Zane Mulder has decided to wrestle for Iowa State University, switching from an earlier commitment to Grand View University.
Mulder told IAwrestle that his early choice of GVU had seemed a natural choice, as he had been training there since his middle school days. He insisted nothing negative about the Vikings had affected his decision, which was made after he opted to follow his life-long dream of competing at the Division I level.
Mulder has finished fifth, third, fifth, and third at the state wrestling tournament, placing this year at 160 pounds. He is expected to battle for duties at 174/184 for the Cyclones.
