An 11-6 overall mark and a 6-1 trip through the Raccoon River Conference has resulted in nine members of the Perry girls soccer team collecting All-RRC honors.

Named to the First Team was sophomore forward Natalie Martinez, who scored 10 goals and had one assist in play limited to injury. She was joined in the First Team by junior defender Syd Guerra (5 goals, 1 assist) and senior midfielder Grace Marburger (one assist).

Freshman Molly Lutmer (7-4) was chosen as a Second Team forward, with senior Mariah McNamara (1-1) and freshman Carly Herrera (one goal) picked at the midfield spot while senior Joselyn Perla was named a Second Team defender.

Freshman Jacqueline Guardado (8-2) and sophomore Bryn Steffen (two goals) earned Honorable Mention status.

The Jayettes, coached by Gilmar Guerra, reached the regional finals for the second consecutive season. Of their six losses, five were to teams that eventually played in the state tournament: ADM, Newton and Norwalk in Class 2A and Gilbert and North Polk in Class 1A. The other setback was a 1-0 loss to 3A Des Moines Lincoln.

Perry outscored their foes 40-26 this season and recorded seven shutouts while being held scoreless just three times. They were outscored, 17-3, in the six defeats, but owned a 27-9 edge in the 11 victories.
