Perry finished their 2016 season with 10 wins and had nine players earn Raccoon River Conference All-Conference status along the way.
Freshman scoring phenom Natalie Martinez was named to the first team at forward. Her 30 goals in just 13 games led the entire state in scoring by freshmen by nine goals and led Class 2A by 13 goals despite playing in four fewer games than Oskaloosa frosh Aleeya Sheehy (17 goals in 17 games). She also had five assists.
Sophomore Sydney Guerra was a First Team choice at defender. Occasionally moved forward on offense, Guerra finished with 13 goals and four assists. She was joined on the First Team by senior midfielder Mariah Duffy, who had a goal and an assist but was key in helping the team with possession.
Junior forward Grace Marburger (four goals, two assists) was a Second Team choice at forward, with midfielder KC Gafkjen also a Second Team selection. Defenders Joselyn Perla (a junior) and Vivian Gonzalez (a sophomore) were Second Team choices as well. Both had one assist this season.
Junior Mariah McNamara and freshman Bryn Steffen were selected for the honorable mention lists. McNamara had one goal and Steffen two goals and an assist.
Perry, coached by Gilmar Guerra, finished 10-7 overall and was eliminated in a substate final.
